The taste may be a metallic one, sweet taste or no taste at all. Some may even cause a salty or bitter taste. Other cuplrits may be "statin" drugs for cholesterol control.Even antibiotics may change the sense of smell or taste, but the infections that they are treating cause similar problems.

There are definite changes in the tongue's sensory areas, but do not assume that your changes are because you are older. It may be your medicine and adjustments may be in order!
