STERILE PREPARATION
Hawthorne Pharmacy has invested in laboratories containing the most modern equipment to ensure the highest quality compounds. By using this equipment and following guidelines established by the Unites States Phamacopeia we are qualified to compound sterile prescriptions. Many physicians utilize this service by ordering the following dosage forms:

 

 

INJECTIONS-Many times we are asked to prepare a sterile medication for injection.   This may be due to a manufacturer being unable to supply a medication or a patient needing a specialized formulation.  These injections range from medications to treat pain, to injections that prevent preterm labor.

 

EYE DROPS-Ophthalmologist request many new and different strengths of medication to be administered into the eye.  These medications may be in the form of a solution or ointment.  In order to prevent infection, these medications must be made using special equipment. We are able to customize these solutions and ointments to the specifications of the physician and patient while maintaining their sterility.

INHALATIONS-By using nebulizers, physicians can treat patients with medications that are inhaled into the lungs. We are able to compound combinations of medicines or alter the strength of the solution in order to individualize the breathing treatment.
