Delivery and Shipping Procedures
Delivery
Hawthorne Pharmacy is pleased to offer convenient home delivery of compounded medications throughout the Columbia, Irmo, and Lexington areas. Our delivery service includes one complimentary delivery per month for maintenance medications within our designated delivery zone.
Additional deliveries, such as one-time or off-cycle requests, are available for an $8.00 fee.
To ensure the appropriate storage of your medications as well as the safety and security of all deliveries:
- A signature is required at the time of delivery.
- A valid photo ID must be presented for any controlled substances.
- A credit card must be kept on file for processing any applicable copays or delivery fees.
- A receipt will be provided upon delivery.

Shipment
At Hawthorne Pharmacy, we offer shipping services via USPS and FedEx and can ship compounded medications anywhere within the state of South Carolina. All shipments are properly sealed and shipped in accordance with the storage requirements of the type of medication being provided.
Important facts about our shipping services:
- A signature is required for FedEx priority overnight and ground services
- This signature can be waived by signing the following form: Authorization forms to Ship Medication without a Signature
- A valid debit or credit card must be on file with the pharmacy for medications and shipment fees.
- An HSA or FSA card can also be kept on file for mediations, but can not be used for shipping fees.
- A valid driver’s license must be on file for Controlled Substances.
Shipping Fees
- FedEx Priority Overnight - Fee for priority overnight shipping ranges from $50-$70 on average varying based on FedEx fees, delivery address and storage of Refrigerated, Non-refrigerated and Weight of items being shipped.
- FedEx Saturday - Saturday delivery may be available for your desired delivery address and can be significantly more expensive than deliveries during the week. This is fully dependent on FedEx’s delivery prices and capabilities.
- FedEx Ground Service - Fee for ground service shipping ranges from $30-$40 and typically arrives in 2-3 days.
- USPS - Fee for Mailing services are between $8-$12. Prices are subject to change due to weight and size of shipment. Mail typically arrives in 2-3 business days depending on postal service in your area.
